Match Report: Diamonds Show Promise in Season Opener against Jaguars
As the newly formed Diamonds we certainly kicked off the season in style. Overall I thought it was an energetic and determined performance and at times we showed plenty of promise against a more established opposition.
As a team we grew in confidence as the match progressed, linking up well through the court and showing flashes of real quality in both attack and defence.
Considering this was our first outing as a unit, I think we did incredibly well to stay within just six goals by the final whistle.
Thank you to Lucy John for stepping in as GK first quarter and some excellent shooting in the D.
Connor’s was exceptional in defence bounding around the court with some sensational interceptions.
I think as different combinations start to develop and confidence builds, this team will certainly make an impact in this division.
Special mention too to our trusted supporters and cheerleaders who continued to help push us on in the last quarter.
A fantastic start and plenty to build on—well done, Diamonds!
Score: Diamonds 39-46 Jaguars
