Team Clubs prove their worth in division 2

Team Clubs prove their worth in division 2

Clubs took on Scarlett Sabres on Wednesday and absolutely smashed it:

♣️ 56 – 41

There was steady play from both teams until Clubs started to take the lead going into the second half with some great turnovers and some actually beautiful match play. Everyone’s timings were spot on and it was genuinely satisfying to watch Jeanette Selby’s shooting, which was appropriately noted as she was awarded player, she was supported by Gemma Ward who kindly played up for us with Sarah Marson from Team Aces.

Thank you Gemma & Sarah.

Feedback for the next game: less chatting with the opponents please – we’re nice but we shouldn’t be THAT nice 😂

Well played everyone 👏🏼👏🏼

Another great win for Team Diamonds

Great game last night with a final score of Diamonds 41~25 BDR .
The team were organised, confident and strong in their positions.
We saw some fantastic interceptions from Edie, poppy B and Eliza .
Chloe’s shots were mostly from a distance but just landed easily through the hoop and Katie’s sneaky silent moves around the D to get the ball were great .
Freya was relentless in her defence against a very tall GS and poppy M read the game and found the spaces .
Well done to player of the match Poppy M and a great start for Edie, welcome to the team!

Hearts nearly put out Blazin Angels fire!

All tied up with Angels!

Hearts started strong today and came out fighting. Warm ups as well as drills at training are paying off now!

The defence had a great game again with so many turnovers and supporting for a reset when needed. The attack had some really tight defence and play was adapted well to receive an accurate ball for the shot.

The flow of the game was challenged at times but actually a positive to take away is how diverse a team we have! Some forced errors allowed Angels to bring back the score to 43 – 43 but we’ll get them next time!🏆

Queens edging closer to a win

Alcester Queens v Droitwich Diamonds
A closely fought game throughout saw Queens just miss out on the W. As Queens continued to grow in confidence and cement their performance the game ebbed and flowed. There was some excellent defensive pressure from both teams which kept the scores down. The attack adapted to changes with some patient build up play.
The W is so close ladies
Final score Queens 28 Diamonds 32
Players player Sophie Smithers for her ever presence in attack
Captains Player Amy-Sue Widman for her awesome switch of position
👑❤️🖤

Team Aces start with a win

A great start to the summer season for Aces – just what we needed after a challenging winter season!
We performed consistently well in each quarter, and focused on timing our movements and pressuring every opposition ball to force errors.
At times we played too fast and gave too many high balls for the wet conditions, but managed to remain in control of the game in each third.
Brilliant defence and reading of play from Leah, Pippa and Katie; Izzy did a great job assisting the transition from defence into attack; some great link up play from myself into Grace and Chloe; and of course some fantastic support through court from our new addition Sarah ✨
Leah Wood got my captains player for being INSANE with turnovers!
Really proud of team Aces today – onto the next!✨♥️

Clubs v Blackbird Divas

We didn’t really know what to expect going into yesterday’s game so it took us a while to adjust to what was going on! In brief, it was a tough game against a good opposition, with messy play from us which wasn’t helped with some players being out of position. We will definitely take this game as a learning curve for us: eg. not overthinking goal ine passes and not panicking with the ball.

Huge credit to everyone for keeping their heads up and ploughing on throughout the game – despite the score. And now we know what we’re up against, we will smash it next time 💪🏼💪🏼

Score: 49 🦅 – 29 ♣️

Clubs meet regular division 2 team Blackbird Divas

Clubs had a taste of things to come in 2nd division playing against Divas. Clubs came out fighting, showing grit and determination. Movement up and down court was excellent with good strong passes. Divas’ defence was strong making it difficult for the shooters to gain a good shooting position. At the other end Divas’ shooters were on fire. With only a few goals deficit at half time there was still a good chance to turn things around but it wasn’t to be, final score 49-29 to Divas.

Hearts beat previous league winners Redditch!

Hearts win against Redditch 55-49!

Hearts kept their cool 😎 and played an organised game with great presentation for the ball, waiting for an accurate pass and defensive reading of the oppositions play.

A great game for Katia as GS and an amazing show from the defensive circle with special mention to Pippa for playing up. They’re clean intercepts and conversions to goal won us the game! 🎉

Well deserved player to Natalie ⭐ who always finds a great space but also ignites a positive energy on and off court. Overall a really enjoyable game and in the sunshine too!🌞

Diamonds shone bright in 2nd match

A bitterly cold evening with a sweet result .
Diamonds came out on top 49 points to 14 conceded against Redditch opals .
Great feedback from coach Sarah who noted great timing and movement on and off the ball . The goal line passes were also excellent.
The team were quiet and not distracted by lots of shouting , they instinctively knew where their players were .

Queens so close to a win

2nd game for Queens tonight against an experienced BDR team. There was some lovely patient attacking through court with the defence bringing the ball up and linking well with attack. Defence worked tirelessly all game to put their attack under pressure time and again. So much to be proud of. Final score ATNC 23 BDR 29
