Hearts do battle against the mighty Blackbird Majors

Hearts do battle against the mighty Blackbird Majors

Hearts played Blackbird Majors with a final score of 32-65 to the Blackbirds. Hearts kept with the positivity throughout but unfortunately narrowly missed out on one point for half score against arguably some of the toughest opposition in the league.

With some good movement through centre court and excellent circle defence it gave an incredible opposing scooting duo a difficult time.

Molly and Liv were on fire with excellent shooting, including plenty of impressive long-bombs! This lead to a (sort of) joint player of the match awarded by Blackbirds, although Molly got the official circle on the score sheet!

Overall a great game from Hearts, with their best score against Blackbirds yet.

Clubs v CBH

Match report: Clubs v CBH

Clubs played really well with the first turnover taking place on the first opposing centre. The score shows how well the team played, with great movement up and down the court.

Star of the show was definitely Jeannette as it seemed the attacking players (even some defenders…Jo Sadler) were testing the length of her arms. Of course she took it like a champ and her shooting was great but we were getting waaaaay too comfortable lobbing long balls at Jeanette!

Going into the second half the score was 27-15 to us and it was clear the team were getting tired and uncomfortable. However this was beneficial given it meant that we slowed down and played our game.

Shout out this week goes to Lorraine who had her first game back following weeks off from a broken finger. You would have no idea that she had weeks out and absolutely smashed it (not the finger).

Everyone had a great game and Amelia won player which was thoroughly deserved. Another pleasure to watch.

Sarah’s feedback – when you were patient with the ball, it was lovely. Good capitalising on turnovers, defence boxed out really well and were patient with possession. Emily got a shout out at GA (practice has paid off) but STOP THE LONG BALLS!

Final score: ♣️ 48-30 CBH

A close game for Team Clubs

Match Report: Clubs v Stratford Ladies

Clubs had a great game against Stratford Ladies on Wednesday, a new team for the Redditch summer league. As always it’s difficult going into a game with no knowledge of how the opposition play but Clubs played their own game and for the first two quarters kept the score level. There was some great shooting by Clubs and movement through the court but unfortunately Stratford Ladies pulled away with a lead of 8 goals in the third and fourth quarters due to their exceptional shooting by their substitute GS, their WA! Clubs continue to push themselves in Division 2 with every game they play being a lessons learnt for their next training session.

♣️ Clubs 43 – 51 Stratford Ladies 💁🏼‍♀️

Hearts just miss out on a win defending Panthers

Hearts nearly caught Panthers as they came from a 7 goal deficit to winning the 2nd and 4th quarter!

Those watching commented on the great movement throughout court, presenting for the ball and waiting for a good pass.
Incredible feeds into Molly in the circle from Natalie tonight. Circle defence and rebounds were great again with Michelle and Laura and with Emily grainger filling in for the final quarter – she successfully slowed the attack and got us some much needed turnovers!

A fun and energetic game, team spirit feels high🌠

Player was awarded to Laura – congratulations!
Final score 50-47 to panthers.

Queens get a little sting from Hotshot Hornets

Alcester Queens v Hotshots
Another lovely summers evening for netball… 🤔 at least the forecasted rain held off.
A close game throughout the first 2 quarters with just 1 goal in each. The 3rd was tied. The game was nip and tuck throughout with interceptions for both teams. Patient build up play and starting to rotate the circle attack really starting to pay off. The defence were on fire throughout (and on springs it seemed at times).
It is also lovely to get a message from the opposition to say what a lovely game it was.
2 weeks of training now as we build to the next challenge against Jaguars
Final score 17- 23
Players player Beth Middleton
Captains player Frankie Woods
Well played all ❤️🖤👑

Diamonds show Redditch Sapphires who shines the brightest

On another lovely warm spring evening not, Diamonds were red hot against Redditch sapphires with a 47-26 win .
Off to a great start first quarter with Eliza playing out of position and her growing confidence at shooting 10-6 to diamonds.
Second quarter saw an amazing 18-4 score with great work in defence by Freya .
Quarters 3 and 4 were consistent with some effortless shots from distance and fantastic team work getting the ball to the shooters !
Well done to chiara on player of the match.

Aces make a meal out of Vixens

Aces Vs Vixens 29.04.2024
Amazing game with Aces taking the win 32-26!!
It was a tight first quarter with Aces taking the lead by 2. Great defensive circle combo of Leah Wood and Katie Brown winning lots of rebounds and interceptions to get the ball back down our attacking end!
On to the second quarter and Aces really picked it up. Gemma Ward and Chloe Evans were on fire with their shooting, creating a substantial lead of 6 heading into the third quarter!
In the third quarter Vixens fought back, tightening the score. Luckily, thanks to great mid-court work by Sarah Marson and Grace Connolly we were able to keep the lead by 2, but we needed to fight for everything in the last quarter.
Final quarter we had some amazing interceptions by Pippa Kelly which as a team we were able capitalise on and extend our lead to 6 again!!
Amazing 2nd winning game of the season for Aces!!!

Team Clubs prove their worth in division 2

Clubs took on Scarlett Sabres on Wednesday and absolutely smashed it:

♣️ 56 – 41

There was steady play from both teams until Clubs started to take the lead going into the second half with some great turnovers and some actually beautiful match play. Everyone’s timings were spot on and it was genuinely satisfying to watch Jeanette Selby’s shooting, which was appropriately noted as she was awarded player, she was supported by Gemma Ward who kindly played up for us with Sarah Marson from Team Aces.

Thank you Gemma & Sarah.

Feedback for the next game: less chatting with the opponents please – we’re nice but we shouldn’t be THAT nice 😂

Well played everyone 👏🏼👏🏼

Another great win for Team Diamonds

Great game last night with a final score of Diamonds 41~25 BDR .
The team were organised, confident and strong in their positions.
We saw some fantastic interceptions from Edie, poppy B and Eliza .
Chloe’s shots were mostly from a distance but just landed easily through the hoop and Katie’s sneaky silent moves around the D to get the ball were great .
Freya was relentless in her defence against a very tall GS and poppy M read the game and found the spaces .
Well done to player of the match Poppy M and a great start for Edie, welcome to the team!
