Clubs so close to a win again!

Ryland Raiders 33 Clubs 30

We played a great game! Even though it wasn’t the result we wanted, Clubs fought hard, and as the game went on we got better and better!
Attack worked really well, moving around the circle and feeding those balls in (some like rockets! 🤣). Janette and Liv worked great together and their shooting was on point, with Chlo, George and Lorraine working together to move the ball into the circle.
It got a bit crazy mid-court at some points transitioning from defence to attack; however, once definite moves were being made and we were clearing the space, we managed to work through the court really well!
Defence got some great interceptions and prevented many balls from getting to goal! Mary did great at stopping the centre passes, and Luncider worked brilliantly in the circle as GK, stopping balls coming in and getting some great rebounds!
Overall, a great game that got better as the quarters went on. We will get them next time!! 💪💪💪💪

Aces v Raiders Bolts

Great game girls! Considering we only had 5 of our players, to lose only by 2 is really impressive
We played some really great netball and kept our heads throughout the game with some questionable umpiring decisions at time!
Well done Rose for Players and Player – our rocket was back storming through centre court getting tips, interceptions and linking defence and attack really well

And well done to Edie for Captains Player – there was barely a rebound Edie didn’t get today, and you did a great job at making your GAs life as hard as possible getting into the D

Also the last match for Edie as she goes off on her travels!!!! We can’t wait to have you back in the summer 🤍

Overall we did really well today despite the scoreline – well done girls

Hearts just escaped the sting of Bees

Hearts vs Bloomfield Bees
Final score ♥️ 50-49 🐝

A tougher game than anticipated but Hearts secured the victory by turning it around in the third quarter.

Attack started well, with some excellent shots and resisting the temptation of feeding too quickly over the top into the circle. Molly and Lauren were on point with their shooting stats today, the pop is working well and we are really gaining territory towards the post. Shout out to Lauren for the second quarter – shooting as a lone ranger with Nat in at GS to allow Molly to provide height in the defensive circle.

Defensively, all combinations worked well, especially in the slippy conditions. Shannon stepped into GD to block out Bee’s exceptional GA in the third quarter, arguably the tactical change that won us the game. Pippa lived up to her reputation as ‘top tipper’ and also gained some clean intercepts. It was lovely to have Laura back with the squad today, playing as though she’d never been away and commanding the circle.

Centre court was balanced, with Sarah also picking up some turn overs and Kate making some fantastic challenges against a tough opposition – arguably the reason for her successfully being chosen as Players’ Player. Kate’s positive vibes really brought the team back into the game too – thanks Kate!

Overall, an unexpectedly tough game but the resilience of the squad really shone through, and I’m super proud that we came away with the win after being down in the first half.

Well done hearts ♥️

Reformed Queens give top of the division Jaguar a good chase

Alcester Queens 30 – Jaguar Ladies 48

Despite the final score, what a positive game we had this sunny morning! With many of us playing together for the first time, we played very well and quickly began to build strong teamwork and figure out the dynamics. There was a noticeable improvement as the game progressed with us even winning the final quarter.

Our defensive players comprising of Lucinda, Beth, Stacey and Ximena were able to read Jaguars attackers play very well and keep them out the D and securing many intercepts. Moving it up through court to Katie as Centre and into the attacking third comprising of Zoe, Tia and Amy. We were able to move the ball around the D, resetting when required.

Player of the match awarded to Tia who was on fire with shooting! Very well deserved!

Onwards and upwards for our newly formed team🏆

Inter club match Hearts v Aces

HEARTS 70 VS ACES 36
A wonderful interclub game.
Some wonderful defensive work from Pippa Kelly Katia Cardin and Kate really helped control the game and put pressure on the wonderful aces shooters and attackers. Beautiful intercepts and works from all three.
Sarah Henderson as usual managed the game amazingly in centre. Working the ball up and down court and picking up some loose balls.
Shannon Hall Natalie Jayne Lauren Goymer working the ball around the final third and circle ensuring we worked the ball closer to the post.
Really lovely to see what we are working on in training come in to the games.

Thank you Aces for a wonderful 2nd game of the season. We look forward to our face off next year🫶🏻

Hearts dodge those Raiders Bolts

Win for Hearts♥️🏆
Hearts secured a strong 62–44 victory over Raiders Bolts, delivering a confident and controlled performance across all areas of the court. The attacking circle worked with impressive fluidity, using a varied mix of passes to move the ball quickly and convert from each centre pass with ease. Raiders struggled to disrupt the smooth transition through court

In the centre court, Hearts controlled space, with clear channels and transitioned through court with speed. The team’s movement and vision through midcourt allowed them to dictate play and maintain momentum throughout the match.

Defensively, Hearts were equally sharp. They read the game brilliantly, picking off loose or misplaced balls and turning them into valuable turnovers. Their pressure and anticipation were crucial in widening the score margin.

The second half brought an unfortunate loss of a player for Raiders after a nasty finger dislocation. Despite being reduced to six players, they showed great resilience and continued to put up a strong fight, challenging Hearts right to the final whistle.

It was also great to have injured Jodie on the sidelines offering support, giving the team an extra boost. Shannon’s standout performance earned her Players’ Player, well-deserved for her consistency, speed and impact on court.

Overall, it was a composed, well-rounded display and a fully deserved win for Hearts

Aces take on top of the league Panthers

Aces 24 – 48 Panthers
Aces faced a tough challenge against Panthers, but despite the final score of 48-24, the team put in a performance to be proud of.
Panthers had a strong set of players, yet Aces stayed composed and showed real fight. Our defence worked hard to disrupt Panthers’ flow, and midcourt & shooters worked the ball patiently around the opposition’s feisty defence.
We went into this game knowing we wanted to play at our own pace, and kept a positive attitude throughout. A solid effort and a great step forward for the team!

Clubs so close to a win

♣️Clubs 50 – Ryland 54
Clubs took on the young and fit Ryland on Sunday and narrowly missed out on the win.

Q1 saw us start out steady and scared to make any large moves given the slippery court!!! Needless to say we started a little messy and took a minute to settle down …

Going into Q2 we calmed down and worked the ball through court. Libby, Mary and George worked tirelessly in defence while feeding up to Lorraine and chlo leaping around in centre court!

We started Q3 11 goals down !!! And WOW what a come back we made!!! The feeds into Jennette worked beautifully 😍 , whose shooting was as accurate as ever leading us to finish with just a 1 goal difference!!!
This quarter was superb! And really showed what we are capable of and what has been working well from training.

Going into Q4 the nippy little Ryland team just nicked the win and capitalised on our loose balls!!

Overall a great game with great atmosphere ✨✨ looking forward to working together in training and getting them next time 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Queens so close to getting those Pearls

Queens vs Redditch pearls 34-31

Game started well with a strong first two quarters. Queens defence were able to intercept and turn over possession reading the oppositions moves well. Sophie as a WA had great feeds into the circle utilising the low balls practiced in this weeks training, which worked well against the tall defenders. Frankie and Ame working well as GA and GS, constantly moving and reworking the ball not rushing or giving into defensive pressure allowing us to start with high scores. As a team we worked together keeping the game slow and controlled to maintain possession (and trying to stay upright on slippy grounds).

Despite high efforts, lack of subs, tired legs (and a few falls) got the better of us allowing the other team to catch up. Despite a loss in score, as a team we should not be disheartened as we still showed great technical skill and teamwork.

Working on maintaining energy and driving to create space will hopefully give us the edge to come back stronger at the next match.

Aces take on top of the league Divas

This week it was a tough match against Blackbird Divas. With mostly wins under our belts for the past few seasons we went into the match rather comfortable despite deep down knowing this may well be a challenge.
We started off very strong, putting pressure on Blackbirds and leading in the first quarter. However, unfortunately, we couldn’t keep this pace up and quickly Blackbirds got momentum and our lead had gone. We kept it fairly close for a while and fought hard but in the third quarter our positive mindset and energy dropped, and before we knew it they had a comfortable lead. The final score was 47-27 to Blackbird Divas. We put up a good fight and played some great netball, but also have come away with knowing what we need to work on to get stronger as a team.
Well played all and particularly to Katie Brown for getting captains player!
