Queens started strong against a young and fit Jaguar side, finishing the first quarter with a solid 12–5 lead. A few changes going into the second quarter didn’t quite go to plan, allowing Jaguar to fight their way back into the game and take the lead at half-time, 17–16.
Going back to what we know best, Queens came out strong in the third quarter, making the most of every turnover. Goal by goal, we regained control of the game and finished the quarter with a comfortable 30–22 lead.
Our focus for the final quarter was possession, although the challenging wind conditions made this difficult at times and led to a few silly mistakes. Jaguar continued to fight right until the final whistle, but Queens held their nerve to secure a well-deserved 37–32 win!
A massive well done to our shooters, Tia and Gemma, who were absolutely fabulous as always, despite the challenging weather conditions!
And finally, a very well-deserved Player of the Match goes to Gemma! 🥇
