Thats a wrap for Diamonds and Queens

The best winter league finale saw Diamonds and Queens win their last matches. ATNC have had an amazing season bring on the summer ☀️ and our summer party in June yay!!!

Diamonds last ever match finishes with a win!

06/04/25
Alcester Diamonds vs Redditch Pearls

Our final game!
Today we played Redditch Pearls for our last match as ‘Diamonds’! Prior to the game a collective bittersweet feeling was felt from the team. So many exciting things upcoming for us all – yet such a sad moment playing our last game.
Going into it, we all knew that we really wanted to finish with a win but previously only beating this team by 3 goals, we knew it was going to be a challenging game.
Q1 was a strong quarter from both teams with the scores being extremely close, but diamonds just edging the game, ahead by a couple of goals.
Q2 we saw some insane interceptions from defence, leading to many turnovers and great work through the court.
With Redditch becoming increasingly dominant and achieving some interceptions, Q3 saw us really working as a team to maintain our lead.
Our final quarter we aimed to play possession rather than strive for more and more goals. We also made use of the new rules and tactically used the rolling subs!
Overall an amazing performance from the entire team and a super fun game with the score finishing 37-30 to diamonds!
We finished our final game with lots and lots of cake, many photos (and even some tears from Alison!)

On behalf of Diamonds, I would like to say a HUUGGEEE thank you to Elaine, Alison & Sarah for all the hard work you’ve invested into the team to improve our play over the years, you’ve been the best! ❤️

Queens finish top with a top score for their final match of the winter season

Queens 47-9 Ryland Rubies

What a glorious morning in the sunshine on the court, surrounded by our cheerleaders/WaGs/babies/parents/friends and family 🫶🏼

We stormed the court and very rightly, celebrated in the pub afterwards of course with all our loyal supporters and Ali and Elaine! ☀️

This does mean we have smashed our division and Beth Rose and I are so proud of everyone on the team for fantastic commitment, battling through a season with a record number of injuries, playing in and out of positions, and so importantly, being there for each other on and off the court 🩷

Thank you to all those players who joined us part way through the season and helped out whether that was in matches, training, or in emergencies when we ran thin on the ground! A very special mention to Millie Taylor on her well deserved player of the match award, we will certainly have a Millie-shaped hole in Queens next season! And wish you all the luck with Clubs! 🥹

QUEENS; WELL DONE, CONGRATULATIONS, BIG THANKS and… we go again ☀️🏐🙌🏼🥰👑

That’s a wrap for winter league for divisions 1 & 2

Winter league divisions 1 and 2 results are in and wow our 3 teams have done us proud!!! Hearts finished runners up in 1st Division which is AmAzInG!!! A special thank you to all those that have played up to help them out during the season ❤️❤️❤️. Aces finished top of 2nd division, their commitment to training has shown in the match results. Clubs finished 3rd in 2nd division with the most goals scored across the division! Such wonderful squads, well done ladies 👏🏆❤️♣️👌

Hearts beat Panthers

Hearts win 45-21 against Panthers 2!

The penultimate game of the season and another win in the bag! The wind was blowing the ball left right and centre and so we focused on making short passes and coming forward for the ball.
We pulled away in the first quarter but the game didn’t have our usual flow. The chaos and panic of the opposing team’s play filtered into ours from time to time but we regained focus in the third and fourth quarter. Thanks so much to Grace and Katie for playing up, reading the play and interceptions were the strong points of the game!

Well done Molly for a well deserved player award!

One more game tonight to finish winter season!

A win for Hearts 💕

Hearts win 56-22 against Ryland Raiders!

Hearts started strong and energetic but after a rough fall from Molly🤕 everything was switched up.

Ryland raiders were fast and threw the game into chaos at times but Hearts were able to gain control and convert forced errors and turnovers picked by defence! Playing our first game in the sun this year was a bit of a challenge for shooters but also for keeping up energy in the unexpected heat!

We pulled away and had a strong lead by the second quarter. We continued to pull away for the rest of the game and conserved energy where necessary by waiting for the drive.
Massive thank you to Grace and Leah for playing up and stepping in to play a whole match straight after their own game! We couldn’t have won that without you both!

Another chance to face Ryland Raiders in a couple weeks so fingers crossed for the same energy from Hearts!

Well done to Olivia for player! Shooting in the second half in particular was faultless!

Aces at their best against Alvechurch

Great match for Aces today 09.03.25!

Played our game and held our own against quite a physical team.
First match with actual sunshine threw us off slightly to start off with but we all left with a cracking tan😋

We remained calm and worked the ball fantastically through court – well timed movements and the right choice of passes meant we flowed well from defence into attack!

Defence were unbelievable today – so many turnovers and rebounds collected. Great communication lead to added pressure and forced errors. As well as moving the ball very well through court into attack

Working around the D was sharp and accurate meaning we barely needed to take any long shots – always a bonus
Shooting accuracy (as per) was very high which meant we converted well and inevitably won the game 🏆

All in all a great team effort!😙

Final score: 49-20 to Aces

Player of the match was yours truly Leah Wood 🤭 And captains player was Sarah Marson!

Queens continue to rule

Queens faced BDR in some bitter cold February weather but came out victorious once again with a score of 35-13 🥳

Every single person played brilliantly and have certainly found groove working together!

Super shooters Amy, Frank and Gem worked hard against some tough defence to put the ball in the net. Centre courters Stace, Beth, Katie and Soph travelled the ball down the court and made an effort to reset and play around when needed, and our consistently fab defence duo Luc & Millie did what they do best; endless rebounds and interceptions and tight marking.

Diamonds sparkle

Match Report – 02/03/25
On this lovely & sunny Sunday morning, Diamonds took on Panthers 3.
With it starting as a very close match, Q1 finished with the scores being very close, with us slightly behind Panthers!
With a couple of changes made, Q2 was seen to be a much smoother quarter for us. Defense was on fire, successfully turning over many passes and enabling further goals.
Throughout Q3, our passing was strong moving down court and movement in the D was good allowing us to maintain our lead.
The final quarter was by far our strongest! We saw great play throughout with many goals being scored. Such a fun game, with great team play! The match finished with a win for Diamonds with a score of 53-29 !

Clubs v Blossomfield Bees 09.02.25

Well done everyone today. Not only a great win, 50-34, but fantastic team performance. We went slightly crazy in the 2nd and 3rd quarters but regained our heads in the 4th.
Well done Ellie on Player 👏 despite those big feet.
Jeanette you had a great game and your shooting and movement was bang on.
Thanks to Rose and Stacey for playing up for us today.
