Hearts take the lead in last 4 minutes against Warwickshire Warriors

Until the last 4 minutes of the match Hearts were behind but each quarter they were consistent and slowed down the game. They took care to choose an accurate pass rather than force the ball, and it paid off. They had their share of hectic play and silly passes but as a team Hearts are really good at keeping their heads in a tight and stressful game. Focused and encouraging talks by Vice Captain Natalie at quarter time really helped to regain focus.

Player of the match was awarded to Kat as WD who had an outstanding game.

Final Score 40 – 38 to Hearts!

Our new Queens meet the mighty Jaguars

Queens – 15 v Jaguar 2 – 53
A tough game for Queens in less than summer like conditions. A slippy ball and slippy court against a very physical team made for a hard night especially in the attacking D. The score certainly didn’t reflect the effort from everyone right throughout the game. Our heads never dropped and we worked hard for each other right to the final whistle. Some lovely patient play at times shows what we can do. Fabulous defence as always put pressure on their shooters. Welcome to Hayley for her first game 👑
Players player Sophie Smithers 🖤 for tireless work as C
Captains player Lucinda Granger ❤️ for amazing interceptions and massive improvements week in week
Big training week ahead as we build into Redditch next week

Our Diamonds shine brighter than Droitwich Diamonds

With a slight misting of rain Alcester Diamonds faced Droitwitch Diamonds.
First quarter quickly got to 5 all before Alcester pulled away for a 12-7 finish. Lots of interceptions from Edie and her fantastic reach . Poppy M always looking for those gaps .
2nd quarter12-2 to Alcester with some great movements around the court leading to the teamwork they rely on from Chloe and Katie .
3rd quarter ended 13-9 to Alcester with some lovely balls into the D from Eliza and Chiara
Quarter 4 13-3 to Alcester saw some great gazelle leaps from Georgina and poppy B ,the team capitalised on Droitwitch mistakes .
Final score 51-23 to Alcester Diamonds great game to watch .
Well done to Edie on player of the match .

Aces play another Alcester team, BDR

Aces 34 v 29 BDR Jets

You wouldn’t know this was summer today with the weather but Aces continued with the positive start they have made to the season. Aces came out of the blocks firing in the first quarter. With goals in quick succession from Chloe and Grace, who have continued to work on the circle rotation and range of passes in recent weeks, paid off beautifully today with some brilliant shooting accuracy. Gemma and Isabel at WA and C provided help bringing the ball down into the attacking end and putting some lovely passages of play together with beautiful feeds into the D, allowing Aces to capitalise on possession. Aces continued to battle with BDR throughout the second quarter, carrying our well deserved lead into the second half of the game. Fresh legs and energy was appreciated by all when Sarah came on as C in the second half, which could be seen in Aces continuing to build on the score and strong start to the game in humid conditions. “Tippy Pippy” Pippa had another brilliant game at WD with interceptions and tips throughout, troubling her opposition and winning much needed possession back for Aces. Leah and Katie continued to work beautifully in tandem in defence today, putting pressure on BDR shooters and getting many well deserved tips and rebounds. Aces slowed down their play into the final quarter to maintain possession to keep the game and scoreline within our control allowing Aces to come out on top.
Player today was awarded to Katie and Captain’s player was awarded to Gemma, for showing real grit and determination and working tirelessly throughout, as well as being a positive energy on and off the court.
Well done ladies ❤️🖤

Blackhorse just galloped ahead of Aces at the end

Despite the score Aces had an exceptional game! Given the warm weather, effort from every single person was 100% today and we worked really well as a team (as always😘)
Through the first 3 quarters we remained controlled and positive. Unfortunately in the final quarter Blackhorse brought their A-game and took the lead, awarding them the win. Movement and feeding into the attacking D was great with only a few interceptions from the Blackhorse defence! Not to toot our own horns (however) the defensive pressure from both Katie Brown and myself was beautiful 😙👌🏻Some great turnovers from Izzy and Pippa! The movement of the ball from defence into attack was honestly lovely to watch. Moving into the attacking support from Sarah, Gemma Ward & Chloe- this worked really well with some great moves! As previously mentioned, some great feeds and work around the D from our attackers! Shooting was great to watch and despite being up against some great defenders, and the pressure of a tight score, Grace Taylor, Gem & Chloe all had a great game with some beautiful shots!
To conclude,I am super thrilled with today’s performance. We will get them next time!!Well done girlies 😘😘

final score : 36-31❤️🖤

Hearts do battle against the mighty Blackbird Majors

Hearts played Blackbird Majors with a final score of 32-65 to the Blackbirds. Hearts kept with the positivity throughout but unfortunately narrowly missed out on one point for half score against arguably some of the toughest opposition in the league.

With some good movement through centre court and excellent circle defence it gave an incredible opposing scooting duo a difficult time.

Molly and Liv were on fire with excellent shooting, including plenty of impressive long-bombs! This lead to a (sort of) joint player of the match awarded by Blackbirds, although Molly got the official circle on the score sheet!

Overall a great game from Hearts, with their best score against Blackbirds yet.

Clubs v CBH

Match report: Clubs v CBH

Clubs played really well with the first turnover taking place on the first opposing centre. The score shows how well the team played, with great movement up and down the court.

Star of the show was definitely Jeannette as it seemed the attacking players (even some defenders…Jo Sadler) were testing the length of her arms. Of course she took it like a champ and her shooting was great but we were getting waaaaay too comfortable lobbing long balls at Jeanette!

Going into the second half the score was 27-15 to us and it was clear the team were getting tired and uncomfortable. However this was beneficial given it meant that we slowed down and played our game.

Shout out this week goes to Lorraine who had her first game back following weeks off from a broken finger. You would have no idea that she had weeks out and absolutely smashed it (not the finger).

Everyone had a great game and Amelia won player which was thoroughly deserved. Another pleasure to watch.

Sarah’s feedback – when you were patient with the ball, it was lovely. Good capitalising on turnovers, defence boxed out really well and were patient with possession. Emily got a shout out at GA (practice has paid off) but STOP THE LONG BALLS!

Final score: ♣️ 48-30 CBH

A close game for Team Clubs

Match Report: Clubs v Stratford Ladies

Clubs had a great game against Stratford Ladies on Wednesday, a new team for the Redditch summer league. As always it’s difficult going into a game with no knowledge of how the opposition play but Clubs played their own game and for the first two quarters kept the score level. There was some great shooting by Clubs and movement through the court but unfortunately Stratford Ladies pulled away with a lead of 8 goals in the third and fourth quarters due to their exceptional shooting by their substitute GS, their WA! Clubs continue to push themselves in Division 2 with every game they play being a lessons learnt for their next training session.

♣️ Clubs 43 – 51 Stratford Ladies 💁🏼‍♀️

Hearts just miss out on a win defending Panthers

Hearts nearly caught Panthers as they came from a 7 goal deficit to winning the 2nd and 4th quarter!

Those watching commented on the great movement throughout court, presenting for the ball and waiting for a good pass.
Incredible feeds into Molly in the circle from Natalie tonight. Circle defence and rebounds were great again with Michelle and Laura and with Emily grainger filling in for the final quarter – she successfully slowed the attack and got us some much needed turnovers!

A fun and energetic game, team spirit feels high🌠

Player was awarded to Laura – congratulations!
Final score 50-47 to panthers.

Queens get a little sting from Hotshot Hornets

Alcester Queens v Hotshots
Another lovely summers evening for netball… 🤔 at least the forecasted rain held off.
A close game throughout the first 2 quarters with just 1 goal in each. The 3rd was tied. The game was nip and tuck throughout with interceptions for both teams. Patient build up play and starting to rotate the circle attack really starting to pay off. The defence were on fire throughout (and on springs it seemed at times).
It is also lovely to get a message from the opposition to say what a lovely game it was.
2 weeks of training now as we build to the next challenge against Jaguars
Final score 17- 23
Players player Beth Middleton
Captains player Frankie Woods
Well played all ❤️🖤👑
