Penultimate match saw unbeaten Aces beat Redditch again

Aces v Redditch Pearls
Wednesday 16th July 2025
Aces win 41-35

A 13th win of the season for team Aces against Redditch Pearls. With a slightly different team to the last time we played them, they gave us a run for our money and really challenged us at points during the game.

The first half Aces gained and maintained a strong 10 point minimum lead and established ourselves into the match.
Defense from Leah, Mary, and Grace C was INSANE – the pressure on the strong Redditch shooters was relentless and the girls scored many turnovers.
Transitioning into attack was made easy by fantastic work by Katie B filling in as centre for pretty much the entire match.
Katie J playing up from Queens as our WA was absolutely incredible throughout. Timing of movement, quality of feeds into the D, and contesting against her WD made fit in seamlessly.
Shooting from myself and Chloe (mainly Chloe) was strong. Although we rushed some shots at the start, we settled and found our rhythm & were able to convert plenty of turnovers.
As we moved into the second half, tiredness across the team started to show and Redditch caught up, at one point getting within three. In the final quarter a short burst of fresh legs from Poppy B as C enabled the team to regroup, settle and push to take the win.

A massive shoutout and thank you to Mary, Poppy B and Katie J for helping us out by playing up.
So much so that Mary was awarded players player, and Katie J captain’s player✨☀️

One game left of the season for Aces – another win would see us have a complete unbeaten season 🤩🤩🤩

Clubs get a sting from those Blossomfield Bees

Well played everyone. I’m sorry I lost my head in the first quarter but well done to you all for keeping yours, especially Amelia; every time I looked, you were beaming and at times even fraternising with the opposition!
Well deserved Leanne on your first ever Player!! 🤩 As ever, you had a fantastic game. You read the game so well and for that you can be forgiven for fumbling the ball, rolling it down your shins, and ultimately kicking it out of play 😂😂
Thank you to everyone for putting in a shift as Leanne said, and for some playing out of position. Clubs is never straightforward but it is our versatility that makes us so incredible 😁

Score 62 – 36

Queens v Playful Panthers

👑 Queens 23 – 29 Panthers

Queens entered tonight’s game against Panthers with nothing to lose. With 1/3 of the team missing, another 1/3 of the team out of position, and up against a team who truly put us through our paces at our last meeting, we decided we’d play todays match “for fun” and to just go with the flow and enjoy it… But seeing how it went, maybe that’s how we need to play all our games!😂

The first quarter was a little rushed but as the game went on, we began to settle into our positions and find our flow. Amazing shooting from Amy-Sue Widman (as always🤩) and INCREDIBLE work in the D from Katie Jones (a new found position at GA!🥳) against two very strong defenders meant we stayed on par with Panthers throughout the match.

In the centre court, Donna, Antonia, and Poppy M worked tirelessly to move the ball through court, making plenty of interceptions, and putting Panthers under plenty of pressure.

Stacey Carrington and I found our groove in Defence too and truly made Panthers work hard for their points!

A huge shout out to Poppy M for coming tonight to help us and for her amazing work at GK and C!

Player awarded to Lucinda Granger. 💕

Congratulations Queens, we may not have won, but that was a damn good game!🏐💛

Lovely Hearts lose by 4 to Panthers with terrible attitude

Hearts vs Panthers

A close game throughout but we stayed within 5 with a final score of 52-48 to Panthers!

It is always a tough contest with Panthers and this was no different, level pegging throughout the game. Movement through court was great and apart from a few wild overheads, we were good at coming forward for a short ball.
Tactical changes were deployed to restructure our own team but also disrupt the flow of Panthers!
A very well deserved player to Laura Mae with fingertips to every ball into the D and multiple successful turnovers!
Some poor sportsmanship from Panthers probably distracted us a little in the final quarter and they took the lead but next time we’ll have them!!

Final game of the season for some Hearts players so we had a team photo with everyone❤️

Hater’s will say it’s edited🤷‍♀️

Aces squashed those Bees!

Aces 40 – 27 Blossomfield Bees
In hot conditions yesterday, Aces showed true composure to secure a well-earned win in what turned out to be a more mentally demanding game.

We started strong, with sharp passes and solid shooting giving us the lead early on. The second quarter continued nicely as we read the opposition’s game well, anticipating their moves and capitalising on their mistakes. Interceptions at crucial moments helped us maintain our lead as all defenders worked tirelessly to shut down passes. The mid-court and attacking players created seamless transitions adding to the score and putting pressure on the opposition’s strong defence.

The third quarter brought a shift in tempo as Blossomfield Bees decided to focus more on making it a mental game rather than physical. It made for a tense quarter, but a timely team talk reminded us to keep our heads up, stay positive, and simply enjoy the match. A few smiles and encouraging words later, and we were back in control ready for yet another win.

The match proved a great example of teamwork, mental toughness, and perseverance!

Clubs fend off local team BDR Jets with a score 43-39

Well done everyone! A bit shaky in the second quarter where I think at one point we nearly ended up neck and neck and it looked as though they were going to take the lead, but, after a quick tactical change (thank you Elaine!) we took the lead again by quite a bit. It looked a little tight in the last quarter but thankfully we held onto the win. I think there could have been a bigger gap still if only we understood the meaning of KEEP POSSESSION 😂 There will be a practical and written test on this next week at training 😏
A big thank you to non Clubs for helping us out 👏
Well deserved player to Gemma for some fantastic shooting 😁
And well done to everyone for playing with spirit and a smile 😊 Another great win!

Hearts give 1st division leaders, Blackbird Majors, their closest game!

Hearts v’s Blackbird Majors
50 – 71

We played our socks off against the formidable top-of-the-league Blackbird Majors this week, playing our own game and focussing on looking after our centre passes, to still be within about 5 at half-time. We (I!!) tired in the final quarter 🥵 with no subs which did let Majors pull out their lead, but a very respectable final score 👏 well played Hearts ♥️ ♥️ ♥️ and a well deserved player awarded to Molly 👏

Queens continue to take sting out of Hotshots Stingers

QUEENS VS HOTSHOT STINGERS
53-19

Another win this week for Queens against Hotshot Stingers.

Although Lacking some of our usual attacking players, the court was definitely not lacking in attacking play. With Beth Y and Stacey both playing out of position (although you would never tell), we worked hard to play the ball around the D into Amy, who was on fire with shooting. Shout out to Beth who also scored some great shots several times!
As usual, great defending from Beth and Lucinda getting many intercepts and being able to use them to our advantage up court. Antonio had a great game with her first stage defence and Donna was fighting for every ball. Through centre court, we fought against the wind but making use of short passes we were able to stay steady.
POM to myself, but overall a very successful game all round! 🏆👑💛

Slower paced netball coming soon at ATNC

Alcester Town Netball Club are looking at starting a ladies training/social session which will be specifically aimed at players who either, through age or injury, have retired from league play but wish to continue playing netball at a slower pace! This could include those returning from injury to gain their fitness back. It will be run by the qualified coaches at ATNC on Tuesdays 6-7pm at Alcester Grammar School from September. If successful friendly matches could be organised. For further information or to show interest please message Elaine on 07739765037.

Hearts v the mighty Alvechurch Panthers

Hearts vs Alvechurch Pink Panthers
38-76 💪💪

It was a strong performance from Hearts this evening, with some excellent teamwork on display. Myself and Molly Stanley quickly found rhythm in the attacking D, using effective rotation and movement. When I wasn’t taking up the space, (opps sorry Nat 😂) Nat’s well-timed drives to the circle edge and her patient, strategic feeds into the shooters created loads of chances.
Lauren Goymer’s speed and ability to consistently get in front of her player were key to moving the ball through court efficiently. Kate McStrafick, when she wasn’t juggling the ball 👀, made some excellent near-interceptions that pressured their higher passes and disrupted their flow.Pippa Kelly was relentless in the defensive D, applying consistent pressure, while Lucinda Granger deserves special mention—playing up three divisions, she had a standout game with amazing tips and an incredible fly interception in the final quarter. 👏👏
Although the game started evenly, Alvechurch gradually edged ahead, gaining on a few of our errors. Our decision-making and movement were strong, but occasional inacurate passes gave them opportunities to turnover.

Overall a great clean game and considering the heat and lack of subs I think the score doesn’t reflect how well we actually played as a team.

Well done hearts ❤️❤️❤️ 💪💪💪
