First match for Alcester Jokers 🤡
It was a cold start to what should have been our first summer match – not quite the weather we were expecting! We faced Pink Panthers so it was going to be a tough first match.
We came out strong in the first quarter, taking an early lead and finishing three goals ahead. This gave the team a real boost and set a positive tone. With a squad of nine, our two subs rotated well throughout the match, keeping fresh legs on court.
A few longer passes were intercepted, allowing Pink Panthers to claw their way back into the game. Our defence put in a solid performance, securing important rebounds and applying consistent pressure.
At times, we found it challenging to transition the ball smoothly back up the court as their centre zone works well, which is something we can focus on improving in future matches.
Despite the final score of 44–32, there were plenty of positives to take from the game. A strong team effort all round and a promising start to the season. Well played everyone!
