A rescheduled match saw Aces beat Blackhorse by 1 goal 32-31! Aces came out with fire and played a great first quarter. Blackhorse were not going to make it easy and continued to fight back with it being neck and neck all through! Both teams had some great turnovers. An evenly contested match that could have gone either way.

Aces so close!
Team Aces played Sunday morning in a very close match which they only just lost in the last few minutes! 30-33. The opposition were a very physical side which did upset Aces flow. However, there was some positive play which was pleasing. This squad shows great promise and could get back to winning with commitment to training to build on their strengths and work on team tactics etc. Player was awarded to Olivia and a welcome to Lydia who played her first match for Aces.
Team Hearts maintain winning streak
Elaine, our coach, watched Team Hearts play Blazin Angels and was very impressed with their play against a very strong team. They won 63-54. They played with such confidence, keeping their cool even when the opposition went ahead in the 2nd quarter. The passing was excellent as was the movement down the court. Lauren was awarded a well deserved Player. Well done ladies still top of division 1.
Court fiasco meant no league matches on 30.10.22!
Our cental match venue, Tudor Grange, Redditch, notified the league that there wasn’t anyone to open up, with less than 24 hours notice!!!
Torrential rain affects play
Flooded courts prevented Team Clubs from playing their match but Spades and Diamonds succeeded with 2 wins!
Spades played Jaguar 1.
It was a close match all the way through to the the last minute. Closely contested between both teams. A lot of interceptions in both defence and centre court from Spades who capitalised and took the win 38-36
POM went to Suzanne Perkins 👏 Diamonds played against Hotshot Hornets 3 today. The play was exceptional, good control, hardly any footwork in difficult playing conditions and ♦️ won 43-22 POM was Chiara Chambers.
Great win for Team Aces
A little delayed but just wanted to say well done to Aces on their win against Ryland last Sunday: It was evident that once Aces calmed down in the second half, and made a couple of changes, they took more control of the game. It is always easy to get caught up in the other teams speed instead of playing ‘your’ game. It flowed more, and there were more directional movements when needed. Great defence work in the D with some great turnovers resulting in goals! Well done Aces.
Division 1 & 2 teams in action
On a beautiful, sunny October morn we saw Teams Hearts and Aces in action.
Hearts played against Stratford Thunderbirds B, a young feisty team who are reputed for their aggressive style of play! Tbirds came out of the blocks running and soon gained an 8 goal lead by end of Q1. A change of positions on Hearts saw them pull it back and by half time Hearts were behind by just 3 goals. A 3 goal lead was maintained by Tbirds into the final quarter, they were getting flustered when Hearts were scoring well achieving 13 goals to their 6. Final score ❤ 44 Tbirds 40
Aces were against a long established Blackbird Divas team. Aces welcomed back a couple of players and also played a player up. This resulted in a change of dynamics on court, with the lack of training as a squad showing. By end of Q1 Aces were trailing by just 5 goals but by half time 11 goals, Q3 15 goals and finally a 20 goal deficit 16-36. I am sure with everyone now back and committing to training Aces can build back up and turn it around.
A great day of netball with 4 out of 5 teams in action
Some fantastic netball today: our young Diamonds played the established Redditch Rubies and lost by just 10 goals 35-45. I hear they played really well: I was umpiring Clubs v Hotshot Hornets at the same time and they had a fabulous game, winning 79-21. Some loopy passes so maybe we need Elaine shouting ‘no overheads’ from the sideline! Nevertheless the team gelled well with a couple of new players. Team Spades played a lovely game against Droitwich Diamonds, winning 68-21. Passing up and down court was controlled and confident with excellent shooting and defending in both Ds. A much better game than their previous one where they struggled in the first quarter. It may have had something to do with doing a good warm up this time! The final game of the day was Hearts v Panthers
1, which was always going to be a tight one, but we won 51-44. Fast pace game with fluidity up and down court and gelling well with a new player on court too! Don’t turn your back on the ball and keep fighting until the end! Well done teams, a great morning of netball xx
No training as we pay our respects to HM Queen Elizabeth II
There will be NO training Monday 19th September 2022 as we say our final goodbyes to her Majesty.
Where were all the Aces?
Aces v OBs today, Hannah from Spades played up and was fabulous. Without her Aces would only have had 6 players! Where were all Aces, we really needed subs! The girls played their socks off, Q1 Aces were in the lead 12-7 but OBs gained the lead in Q2 and by the end the score was 35-43. Well played ladies and thank you Hannah.
