Queens continue to take sting out of Hotshots Stingers

QUEENS VS HOTSHOT STINGERS
53-19

Another win this week for Queens against Hotshot Stingers.

Although Lacking some of our usual attacking players, the court was definitely not lacking in attacking play. With Beth Y and Stacey both playing out of position (although you would never tell), we worked hard to play the ball around the D into Amy, who was on fire with shooting. Shout out to Beth who also scored some great shots several times!
As usual, great defending from Beth and Lucinda getting many intercepts and being able to use them to our advantage up court. Antonio had a great game with her first stage defence and Donna was fighting for every ball. Through centre court, we fought against the wind but making use of short passes we were able to stay steady.
POM to myself, but overall a very successful game all round! 🏆👑💛

Slower paced netball coming soon at ATNC

Alcester Town Netball Club are looking at starting a ladies training/social session which will be specifically aimed at players who either, through age or injury, have retired from league play but wish to continue playing netball at a slower pace! This could include those returning from injury to gain their fitness back. It will be run by the qualified coaches at ATNC on Tuesdays 6-7pm at Alcester Grammar School from September. If successful friendly matches could be organised. For further information or to show interest please message Elaine on 07739765037.

Hearts v the mighty Alvechurch Panthers

Hearts vs Alvechurch Pink Panthers
38-76 💪💪

It was a strong performance from Hearts this evening, with some excellent teamwork on display. Myself and Molly Stanley quickly found rhythm in the attacking D, using effective rotation and movement. When I wasn’t taking up the space, (opps sorry Nat 😂) Nat’s well-timed drives to the circle edge and her patient, strategic feeds into the shooters created loads of chances.
Lauren Goymer’s speed and ability to consistently get in front of her player were key to moving the ball through court efficiently. Kate McStrafick, when she wasn’t juggling the ball 👀, made some excellent near-interceptions that pressured their higher passes and disrupted their flow.Pippa Kelly was relentless in the defensive D, applying consistent pressure, while Lucinda Granger deserves special mention—playing up three divisions, she had a standout game with amazing tips and an incredible fly interception in the final quarter. 👏👏
Although the game started evenly, Alvechurch gradually edged ahead, gaining on a few of our errors. Our decision-making and movement were strong, but occasional inacurate passes gave them opportunities to turnover.

Overall a great clean game and considering the heat and lack of subs I think the score doesn’t reflect how well we actually played as a team.

Well done hearts ❤️❤️❤️ 💪💪💪

Interclub, division 2 game, Aces v Clubs

ACES VS CLUBS 01.07.25
46-39

Aces are still going strong even in the heat! 🥵

Amazing defence from Leah, Katie and Grace c. Leah and Katie always the defensive duo with some great intercepts and tips throughout the game. Well done to Conner’s for keeping up with crazy Shan for 60 minutes and supporting your gk and gd.

Huge shoutout to Rose for running around as Centre for a full game never letting her head fall assisting in defence with some intercepts, and some amazing feeds into the D as always.

Grace, Gemma and myself down in attacking end. Gemma and Grace had some lovely movement sharing Wa and Ga. Grace always coming forward for the ball and some lovely change of direction. Gem took a tumble but didn’t deter her and she had some cracking shots!

Captains players was awarded to Rose Claire Pendlebury 🫶🏼

Always a fun game playing against clubs, who had a cracking game and big shout out to Amelia in as GA some great shots!

Hearts absorbed the lightning

❤️ Winning Wednesday for hearts

46-44 vs Raiders Lightning Bolts on 25.06.25.

A muggy game that we made hard for ourselves. The score did not reflect how we played.
Some great defensive pieces from Pippa, Laura and Kate.
Nat working as hard as usual working the ball up the court. Feeding some great balls in to the D along with Jodie.
Incredible shooting from Lauren and Liv helped us clinch the victory.
A very well deserved player to Jodie Palmer leaving everything out there to help bring us out on top

Clubs put up a great fight

Thought I would do the match report for Clubs. They played a young and fit Ryland team and although they didnt win I was impressed with their play. Unfortunately Millie T took a bad fall in the first few minutes and limped off with a sore ankle. This meant Liz moving to GA and along with Shannon gave Jeanette some great feeds into the D. Jeanette was on fire! Katie from Queens stepped in to play as C and the combination with our pocket rocket Shannon was fab! In defence Millie B moved to GD and along with Georgina as WD annoyed the Ryland attackers! Last but not least Lou as GK with her heavily strapped knee managed a full match and came off smiling! There’s commitment for you. The score was 68-54 to Ryland so not a huge difference given the circumstances. Captain Lorraine you can be proud of your team.

Queens take the sting out of Stingers

Another win for the Queens on 24.06.25 against Hotshot Stingers: 51 – 20 🌟

A solid first half filled with solid, assured passing & steady, careful movement up the court meant we started strong from the off. Taking the lead each quarter, everyone played their part in the success.

Although getting a little bonkers in the third quarter & our play losing a little discipline and calm – no clue as to why – we remained on top and continued getting those shots in, despite a tall, arm-y defence – shoutout shooters ☄️

Despite an injury for the opposition, the match remained a positive one, and Queens continued as the Queens they are 👑
Shoutout Gem for getting Player of the Match for, I quote Elaine, ‘bossing WA’ and keeping that ball bouncing from defence to the attacking D 🏆

All in all, another win to be proud of! Well done Queens 🥳

ATNC big summer party

For the first time we had a BIG summer party! This was to celebrate many events this year: ATNC is 15, Diamonds finished their A levels and a lot off to pastures new; many milestone birthdays, a wedding, babies and pregnancies!!! The Why Not was the chosen venue with a wonderful BBQ in the lovely June sunshine.

Queens wanted those Opals

👑 Queens played a scorcher 👑

We played for the majority in 27/28 degree heat and had a great win 48-26 over Redditch Opals on 19.06.25.

Great play from everyone in sticky conditions; defence as usual made intercept after intercept and worked hard to bring the ball through the centre third and attack worked equally as hard, with patient passing around where we needed to in order to get closer to post.

We did well to tire the opposition by the last quarter and fortunately had a great squad of 9 players for fresh legs due to the extreme heat! Everyone worked brilliantly as a team and some really seamless moments of play throughout the match.

Huge well done to our super centre and player of the match Katie Jones!! 🥳💞

Alcester Street Market

Every year our home town of Alcester hosts a summer street market. This year’s theme was TV & Movies 1970s onwards! ATNC were ‘Incredibles’ for the day! We raised £300 from our ticket sales for lucky lolli lottery and win a barrow-o-booze. Our fund raising will go towards new netball dresses 😃
