Close game today. We all had a great game and well done to @⁨Libby Rolph⁩ for player and some fantastic interceptions. Really tough against the GA and GS especially when it’s just a long ball. ⁨Leanne Hudson⁩ you had a great game, you just needed to be 2’’ taller!

Lucy had a fantastic first game and played really well with Jeannette Selby⁩ whose shooting was on fire!
It was a good game to play and watch and they were a nice team. Georgina I hope the plaster didn’t hurt coming off 😂 ⁨Chloe Hancox⁩ you did great in your brief spell as WD even if you were lost 😂

Missing some regular players Queens were assisted by a previous Diamond, Poppy Monaghan, and a new player, Jodie, who had only trained with Queens a week before! Considering this they did really well to come away with a score of 30-50 🙌

Our first team Hearts played Blackbird Divas, losing by 10 goals 37-47. It was a very evenly matched game although the score didn’t reflect this. With only 7 players and no subs, one of those players borrowed from Clubs.

Our second division 1 team Aces took on CBH narrowly missing out on a win 31-34! Aces were down several of their own players and relied on help from two of our other teams, the beauty of being a close knit club where our teams train regularly together. Match report supplied by Gemma the captain:

A close match today ladies! Final score 34-31 and a well deserved players player to Leah.

Defence were formidable today and secured countless turnovers
The teamwork between Katie and Leah in the D was so nice to watch – lots of rebounds collected, pressure applied and forcing of errors
Coming through centre third Rose as usual was integral to the link up play between defence and attack and Mary, Georgina and Fran supported well, fitting in seamlessly with the team
As Chloe and I got settled into the game our movement round the D really improved and we worked well with the support on the edge of the D

Strength and selection of the pass to give I think was one thing for us to work on
And shooting conversion % wise I think we both weren’t quite high enough for the score to represent the actual gameplay
As a team I think our warm up needs to be a bit more disciplined! We need to make sure we hit the court feeling warm and on our toes, and shooters need time to get lots of shots in too so that’s something for us to work on for next match!

Well played girls – we’ll get them next time!!!

Division 2 Clubs played Jaguars missing out on a win by just 3 goals! Match report supplied by Clubs captain Lorraine:

Firstly well done everyone who played in Sunday’s match and well done to Liv for Player 👏 We were in the lead and played really well in the first quarter but to be honest not really sure what happened thereafter! They weren’t particularly a sporting team and my ears are still ringing 😂

The new year of netball started off with a fabulous win for Queens against Droitwich Diamonds 35-30! Lucinda Granger awarded player. Queens had played them before the Christmas break and came out on top with a 31-16 win. Go Queens 👸

St Nick’s Night 2025! 🌟
This year’s event saw ATNC hosting a Human Fruit Machine game and Barrow O’Booze raffle to raise money for our wonderful club. And I’ll be honest, I don’t think it could have gone any better! 🤩
The Human Fruit Machine was a smash hit with adults and kids alike! With prizes being won throughout the night, to everyone’s delight! A big thank you to our wonderful helpers for making the game such a success and for bringing so much fun and laughter to all who participated ❤️
Our Barrow O’Booze was also highly successful with 2 very worthy winners, Sean and Moira!
Sean and Moira purchased a strip of tickets at the 2024 St Nick’s Night and were only 3 numbers away from winning (beaten by Lauren!) But, they decided to test their luck again this year, and to their delighted surprise, they won! 🎉 Congratulations, Sean and Moira!
A massive thank you once again to everyone who made St Nick’s Night 2025 such a special night and for all of your wonderful donations. We raised over £400 for our lovely club!

This year we tried a different venue with a sit down meal and more space to play silly games and boogie the night away with our own DJ Ben! Partners were invited too and it was lovely to see everyone dressed up for the occasion and having a great time. Merry Christmas everyone 🎉🎄☃️🥧🥳

👑 Queens 31 – 16 Droitwich Diamonds

Queens played a lovely game on Sunday with a style that is best described as being the tortoise rather than the hare. With new team dynamics, we’re still learning how everyone moves around court, predicting where our teammates will be, and understanding our different styles of play. However, as the game progressed and we began to grow in confidence, the flow down court went from strength to strength as we slowly took the edge over Droitwich.

The attacking trio of Amy, Tia and Zoe were a delight to watch. Against some very strong defenders, they kept their cool and kept working the ball around the D to find the best position to shoot. Combined with the magnificent Katie at C, I have no doubt that our attack’s positioning, movement out and around the circle, and space creating will rival Hearts/Aces/Clubs in no time!

Defence also had wonderful interceptions and rebounds throughout the game. Stacey, Beth and Fran worked tirelessly to provide back-up for the attack if a reset was required, and their quick, strong passes made it very hard for Droitwich to catch up with us. I rooted myself as GK for the match and seemed to have a good game as I was awarded Player! 🫣

Despite the veryyyy wet wintery conditions, Queens kept their cool, and their patience and perseverance won in the end.

I’m very excited to see what the future of Queens brings as we settle as a team, discover our strengths, and build in confidence! Well done ladies for a lovely match x

Ryland Raiders 33 Clubs 30

We played a great game! Even though it wasn’t the result we wanted, Clubs fought hard, and as the game went on we got better and better!
Attack worked really well, moving around the circle and feeding those balls in (some like rockets! 🤣). Janette and Liv worked great together and their shooting was on point, with Chlo, George and Lorraine working together to move the ball into the circle.
It got a bit crazy mid-court at some points transitioning from defence to attack; however, once definite moves were being made and we were clearing the space, we managed to work through the court really well!
Defence got some great interceptions and prevented many balls from getting to goal! Mary did great at stopping the centre passes, and Luncider worked brilliantly in the circle as GK, stopping balls coming in and getting some great rebounds!
Overall, a great game that got better as the quarters went on. We will get them next time!! 💪💪💪💪

Great game girls! Considering we only had 5 of our players, to lose only by 2 is really impressive
We played some really great netball and kept our heads throughout the game with some questionable umpiring decisions at time!
Well done Rose for Players and Player – our rocket was back storming through centre court getting tips, interceptions and linking defence and attack really well

And well done to Edie for Captains Player – there was barely a rebound Edie didn’t get today, and you did a great job at making your GAs life as hard as possible getting into the D

Also the last match for Edie as she goes off on her travels!!!! We can’t wait to have you back in the summer 🤍

Overall we did really well today despite the scoreline – well done girls

Hearts vs Bloomfield Bees
Final score ♥️ 50-49 🐝

A tougher game than anticipated but Hearts secured the victory by turning it around in the third quarter.

Attack started well, with some excellent shots and resisting the temptation of feeding too quickly over the top into the circle. Molly and Lauren were on point with their shooting stats today, the pop is working well and we are really gaining territory towards the post. Shout out to Lauren for the second quarter – shooting as a lone ranger with Nat in at GS to allow Molly to provide height in the defensive circle.

Defensively, all combinations worked well, especially in the slippy conditions. Shannon stepped into GD to block out Bee’s exceptional GA in the third quarter, arguably the tactical change that won us the game. Pippa lived up to her reputation as ‘top tipper’ and also gained some clean intercepts. It was lovely to have Laura back with the squad today, playing as though she’d never been away and commanding the circle.

Centre court was balanced, with Sarah also picking up some turn overs and Kate making some fantastic challenges against a tough opposition – arguably the reason for her successfully being chosen as Players’ Player. Kate’s positive vibes really brought the team back into the game too – thanks Kate!

Overall, an unexpectedly tough game but the resilience of the squad really shone through, and I’m super proud that we came away with the win after being down in the first half.
